  12. which provides several further information about this desktop theme 
  13. and its subject. If you don't have Word 97, you can dowload the MS 
  14. Word Viewer 97 for Windows 98 or NT for free at:

  19. Theme Installation & Troubleshooting
  20.  
  21. To install this theme:
  22.  
  23. 1. Just run the "Billie Holiday Setup.exe";
  24.  
  25. 2. The theme files will be moved into your theme file directory 
  26. (hopefully c:\program files\plus!\themes); The font files will be 
  27. installed into your fonts directory (c:\windows\fonts). If you already
  28. have one or all of the fonts used in this theme in your system, you'll
  29. be prompted to replace them during the installation process. Answer 
  30. NOT TO REPLACE the font files, otherwise the setup will stop running. 
  31. Windows does not permit the replacment of font files... The screensaver
  32. files (Billie Holiday.scr, billie1.mid, billie2.mid and imgdll.dll) 
  33. will be installed into your windows directory. If you want to uninstall
  34. it, you'll have to remove all the files listed above manually.

  36. 3. Run Microsoft Plus! or any other theme file installer (such as 
  37. Desktop Themes, by J. Porter) and select the theme file that you have 
  38. just unzipped.
  39.  
  40. ***IMPORTANT NOTES***    
  41.  
  42. 1. If you have a previous version of this desktop theme installed in 
  43. your computer, you should consider unistalling it first.
  44.  
  45. 2. In order to combine high quality with reasonable filesize, 
  46. the sound files in this theme are compressed in MPEG Layer-3 format. 
  47. If you want to use them, you'll need to install "Microsoft NetShow" 
  48. (http://www.microsoft.com/netshow/).
  49.  
  50. Note: it is apparent that the newer version of NetShow is not 
  51. installing the MPEG Layer-3 codec to function properly for all 
  52. applications. You MUST download the older NetShow v2.0 package. 
  53. If you wish to apply a newer player later on, just install the newer 
  54. version over the top of NetShow v2.0.
  55.  
  56. 3. To install the logo files all you need to do is double click on the 
  57. "Install Logos" batch file (located at c:\program files\plus!\themes\
  58. Billie Holiday\Logos). This Logos Installation Program was created by
  59. The Theme Doctor (http://www.TheThemeDoctor.com).  To uninstall them, 
  60. simply double click on the "Uninstall Logos".

  63. Common problems and fixes.
  64.  
  65. If errors are encountered while installing the theme:
  66.  
  67. 1. Make sure you used a long file name-compatible uncompression 
  68.    program like WinZip to unzip the theme;
  69. 2. Check that all the correct directories have been made;
  70. 3. If your theme file directory is not c:\program files\plus!\themes,
  71.    you'll need to move all the files in this package manually to
  72.    the theme file directory you use!;
  73. 4. Make sure that you have Microsoft Plus! or another theme file 
  74.    installer installed. The theme file will not install automatically 
  75.    as soon as you unzip it!
  76. 5. If you don't have MS Plus! you can download an excelent theme 
  77.    installer called "Desktop Themes" at http://www.lss.com.au/
